Project Reworks
The main goal of the re-works is to provide an opportunity for folks to earn credit for putting additional improvements, adjustments, or ideas into projects after receiving feedback from the TAs and through Peer Workshops, and after having more time to problem solve technical difficulties.
We will be evaluating and grading re-works based on effort, problem-solving, expansion and exploration. We will also be keeping the first version in mind. In other words, we are going to have slightly different expectations for the re-works based on the first versions, in a way that meets you where you were at with the project.
Re-Work Options
- In general, if you experienced extreme technical difficulties with the first version of a project, the re-work can simply show that you solved some or all of these technical difficulties.
- If a first version was incomplete or missing a few required elements, completing the project or including those missing elements would be a re-work option.
- If the first version lost 1 or 2 points for a minor issue, you could fix the issue and resubmit the whole project as the re-work, or, develop a new strategy or method to address the issue and create new visuals (in fewer frames) to submit.
For first versions that received full credit (10/10), there are several options for the re-works. They can be slightly extended, or the existing visuals can be adjusted, or you can explore a new concept or idea. If you are working with adjusting existing visuals, or exploring different styles with new visuals, even if the re-works are ultimately less successful or refined than the first versions, they will still receive full credit.
In all cases, regardless of the feedback you received in peer workshops or from the TAs, if you have an improvement or adjustment you were hoping to apply for the re-work, you can always choose that instead, as long as it seems like a comparable amount of work as the other options listed (1 - 2 hours or the frame / second requirements). I have been reading through the Peer Workshops, and it seems like a lot of you are already planning to incorporate changes for the re-works - go with these specific ideas and goals first. As always, since I cannot list out all of the possibilities, please feel free to contact the TAs or me with any questions prior to the due dates.
