Module 4 STUDIO PROJECT: COLLABORATIVE FILM REMAKE

Introduction

Step 1: Watch Film + “sign-up” for 1 remake scene in canvas

Available on Netflix Streaming, and iTunes, YouTube and Amazon Rentals for 2.99 - 3.99

Step 2: Review technical + Content Requirements

  • Duration - 15 to 45 seconds

  • Horizontal Orientation - turn your phone 90 degrees while you are recording

  • Dimensions - aspect ratio 16:9, between 1920 x 1080 to 1280 x 720 pixels. Most smartphones and web cams from the past 3 - 4 years will record video at this ratio and within this dimension. Please check in with me or your TA if you are working with an older smartphone or digital camera that does not meet these requirements

  • Edits - projects should include at least 2 cuts / 3 different shots of footage

  • Project must abide by the Shelter-in-Place + Actor rules and guidelines posted to the project description. Please be sure to review these requirements and email with questions BEFORE starting project.

STEP 3: FILM, EDIT + EXPORT

  • All footage must be original, but narrative, visual, composition, framing and dialogue and audio elements can be borrowed directly from the original film.

  • Projects must contain at least 2 edits

  • Project must be posted to YouTube
