Module 5 Studio PRoject: Remix Clip Library

Step by step

  • Decide which 10 clips you will use

  • Capture these clips as video files (.mov or .mp4) by using Screen Recording, Zoom Screen Share, ripping from YouTube or, if none of these work, recording off the screen with another device.

  • Trim any excess footage using a simple video editor

  • Use Photoshop to crop each clip in a 500 x 500 pixel square and convert to a looping animated GIF

CAPTURING CLIPS FROM FILMS

SCREEN RECORDING USING QUICKTIME OR BUILT IN SCREEN RECORDER

If this option is available to you, this can be the easiest way to capture short clips. Quicktime has a screen recorder that works with most web-based streaming platforms, and iOS versions also have the built in Screen Recorder.

Downloading Video from YouTube + Streaming Platforms

Using Zoom to Record Hulu, Netflix, Amazon and other Streaming or Video Platforms

CONVERTING VIDEOS CLIPS TO ANIMATED GIFS
