MODULE 4: STUDIO PROJECT 4 - TUTORIAL VIDEOS

STUDIO PROJECT: TEXT AS IMAGE POSTERS

For this project, you will use Adobe Illustrator to create a series of 3 “text-only” poster designs using the same sentence or phrase. Be sure to refer to the Canvas Project Description for the specific requirements for each of the 3 posters, and the guidelines for the chosen phrase and sentence. Read through the Canvas description and review the project requirements before starting this project. The video tutorials below cover all of the required tools, processes and methods needed to successfully complete the project, and they build from intro to basics to more complex processes, but they are not necessarily a strict step-by-step format.

Introduction - concepts and ideas

No technical requirements or information is included in the intro video below - this video is just to give some ideas for different approaches and to also describe the concept of “Text As Image” a bit more. See the Canvas Description for all of the project requirements, guidelines and rules.

Also, a few reminders of your options with this video format:

  1. Pop out of Canvas and watch in a new tab if any of the features aren't working

  2. There are fullscreen and CC (Sub-title) options available in the right hand corner. For being YouTube auto-captions, these are pretty clear. I think they must have improved their algorithm. Please email me with any accessibility needs.

  3. If you are feeling pressed for time, but don't want to miss anything, you can watch with audio in 1.5 speed by hitting that little gear icon.
