STUDIO PROJECT 5 - TEXT AS IMAGE POSTERS

For this project, you will use Adobe Illustrator to create a series of 3 “text-only” poster designs using the same sentence or phrase, with a specific chosen font, text, and basic shapes only. Be sure to refer to the Canvas Project Description for the specific requirements for each of the 3 posters, and the guidelines for the chosen phrase and sentence. Read through the Canvas description and review the project requirements before starting this project.

The video tutorials below cover all of the required tools, processes and methods needed to successfully complete the project, and they build from intro to basics to more complex processes, but they are not necessarily a strict step-by-step format.

These are videos for a slightly different set of project requirements - for any differences between what I say in the videos and what is listed on Canvas in the requirements, go with what is in Canvas.

Part 1- Before Opening Illustrator

Select the text you’d like to work with, and choose a unique font, a general color scheme, and some basic layouts / compositions your are interested in exploring that match the visual meaning with the literal meaning of the text.

  2. There are fullscreen and CC (Sub-title) options available in the right hand corner. For being YouTube auto-captions, these are pretty clear. I think they must have improved their algorithm. Please email me with any accessibility needs.
