The digital image - TECHnology
The first digital cameras - dubbed Ecams - were developed by a researcher at Kodak, Steve Sasson. His first working prototype was finished in 1973, and in 1978 Kodak filed a patent for the technology it was based on. This patent expired in 2007, but earned them billions from other digital camera manufacturers. Link to Full NYTIMES Article Here
Technical introduction - Digital Images + Photographs
Digital images composed of pixel building blocks, which cannot be "enhanced" beyond their base resolution.
Resolution - and core resolution - is therefore a very important aspect of digital photos, and how we understand them as both a technology and a media.
capture formats - raw v.s. jpeg (and the difference in information)
